Which level is my volleyball player?
Beginner/Intermediate –New to volleyball or has only played recreational volleyball. May have improved skills through clinics or camps, but has not yet played in a highly competitive setting. Beginner/intermediate players have not yet mastered the fundamentals for most volleyball skills and do not have a consistent overhand serve behind the end line.
Advanced – Has played volleyball at a competitive level for 2+ years. Can visibly see that she is experienced on the court and her volleyball technique/form is correct. Can overhand serve behind the end line more than 75% of the time. Has participated in multiple clinics, classes, and leagues that are run at a high level. Not required but has experience playing on a club volleyball team and/or middle school team.
Debating on if your daughter is an Advanced player? Have her answer the following:
-
Overhand serves behind end line 75%+
-
Passes to target 75%+
-
Can set to all positions on the court
-
Proper footwork for hitting & blocking

-
Understands what serve receive, base, transition, and defense is
-
Has 1 or 2 positions on the court that player prefers to play
-
Plays club volleyball or on a middle school team
